Rootpile University

During the day, Rootpile transforms into an interactive learning space.

Join hands-on workshops covering music, dance, performance, creativity, and more. Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or sharing your own knowledge with others, Rootpile University is built around participation.

No experience required—just curiosity.

Live Music

As the sun begins to set, the camp comes alive.

Each evening features live performances that invite people to gather, dance, sing along, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Pull up a chair, find a dance partner, or wander through on your way across the city—you never know what you'll discover.

Dance Hall

Music is meant to be shared.

Throughout the week, our dance floor fills with two-step, Cajun dancing, and plenty of spontaneous moments that bring strangers together. Beginners are always welcome, and someone is usually happy to teach the next dance.

Late Night

When the concerts end, the energy doesn't.

Late-night programming keeps the camp moving with DJs, jam sessions, dancing, and unexpected collaborations that stretch well into the night. Every evening has its own personality, making no two nights at Rootpile exactly the same.

A Full Week of Activity

Whether you're stopping by for a workshop, sharing a meal, joining a jam session, or dancing beneath the desert sky, there's always something happening.
